Abstract

For a long amount of time, traditional financial products were offered in India by banks and the postal department to help people save their money for meeting future obligations. However, in recent years, diverse financial products have been introduced such as mutual funds, shares, real estate and as such; for letting people invest their hard-earned money. Financial products act as an investment avenue and provide the required financial security to the investors. Investment preferences differ from person to person. Investment behaviour of an individual is guided by his own set of circumstances. This study is an attempt to analyse the investment preferences of salaried class of people towards various financial products available in the market and the factors which influence such preferences.
