Abstract

Micro management is the over intervention of mangers in the work of the employees. The present study aims to understand the concept of micro management, its prevalence in the current world or situation and whether it has a detrimental effect on the performance of an organisation. The paper is conceptual in nature. The different literatures show that micromanagement leads to negative results unintentionally. Employees do not gain job satisfaction when their freedom is snatched away by their superior who always intervenes in their work. However, micromanagement is quite useful in certain situations where close observation of employee work is required. But this should not be taken as a routine in the long run.
