Abstract

It is essential for a healthy living, the best family – environment, irrespective of the age of the individual. The aim of the present study is to find out the relationship between family environment and academic achievement of higher secondary school students in Kanyakumari District. The sample selected for the study was 400 higher secondary school students. Stratified sampling technique was used. Family Environment Inventory was the tool used for the collection of data. The collected data were analysed through mean difference analysis and Correlation. The findings of the study revealed that there is significant difference in the family environment of higher secondary school students with respect to their gender and locale and there is significant correlation between family environment and academic achievement of higher secondary school students in Kanyakumari District.
