Abstract

populated state among all states forming eastern India and ranked third largest state of India with respect to population and seventh in terms of area. Home to a large proportion (58%) of young (below the age of 25) population, the state is ranked at the top in terms of highest proportion of young people as compared with all other states of the country. Bihar is endowed with various diversified natural gifts. Fertile Gangetic alluvial soil, abundant water resources, particularly ground water resources altogether forms the basic/core components for development of agriculture in Bihar.
