Begusarai extends roughly from 25010' to 250 48' N latitudes and stretches from 85044' to 86032' E longitudes. A fairly compact area, the district is bounded on the north by Samastipur district while on the south it is broadly delimited by the Ganga river. The western border of the district is co-extensive with the districts of Samastipur and Patna while its eastern limit is set by Khagaria district.
