Abstract

The present study illustrates Depression, Anxiety and Stress among Small Scale Farmers in Idukki before Covid 19 Pandemic. A number of 200 participants (including both Males N = 157 and Females N = 43) were selected from Idukki District, Kerala by using random number table. The study is focused on awful psychological conditions among farmers in between monsoon disasters and COVID 19 pandemic. Among the total respondents 76 percentages of the farmers having liabilities (bank loans) and amongst them 15 percentage comprises of education loan. DASS – 21 administered to collect data from respondents. The results revealed that farmers following lease farming (Paattam) undergo higher level of stress than their counter part (farmers having their own land). Further, the farmers with education loan are having higher level of depression than the other liability groups.
