Abstract

In the past two decades Madhubani district core of Mithila, which was once a part of Raja Videha Janak, has been facing severe drought. Once this area was flood prone but now it is drought prone. As World Bank Report on India says that India has no proper water management system in place, its ground water is disappears and river bodies are turning into makeshift sewers. Estimate reveals that by 2020 India's demand for water will exceed for all sources of supply and hence the world Bank has repeatedly warned that India will face a sever water crisis in twenty years if the Government does not pay proper attention towards water management.
