Abstract

Self Confidence allows one to have a positive and realistic perception of oneself and one’s own abilities. It is characterized by personal attributes such as assertiveness, optimism, enthusiasm, affection, pride, independence, trust, the ability to handle criticism and emotional maturity. A person with high self-confidence is more likely to achieve positive and successful outcomes. The previous findings have shown that students' self-confidence is clearly related to students' activities and academic results. As learners suffer from low self-confidence, academic achievement decreases (Fook et al., 2011).The present study divulges that there is a significant level of self confidence among high school students. Further, it reveals that there is significant difference between the Self Confidence of high school students with regard to the type of school. In addition to that it makes known that there is no significant difference between the Self Confidence of high school students with regard to the location of the school. Over and above the study reveals that there is no significant difference between the Self Confidence of high school students with regard to the medium of instruction. Besides it reveals that there is no significant difference in Self Confidence of high school students with regard to Parental Education.
