Abstract

Abstract: Call centres were first recognized as such in their largest incarnations: airline reservation centres, catalogue ordering companies, consumer-oriented problem solvers. Until the early 1990s, only the largest centres across the globe could afford the investment in technology that allowed them to handle huge volumes. The aim of the study is to know about the growth of BPO’s in India and to know how BPO’s help in reducing unemployment rate in the country. A sample of 150respondents is taken. Questionnaire has been analysed with the help of pie diagram & bar chart and different interpretations have been made to study the impact of BPO’s in India. The study concluded that as per the estimates, India is poised to become a No. 1 BPO destination in the Asia-Pacific overwhelming all the so called odds. Particularly, when it comes to ITES-BPO tier, with a current base of 96,000 call centre seats
