Abstract
The present study examined the personality of Govt. and Private Secondary School Physical education teachers as measured on 16 PF. The descriptive survey method is used for this purpose. The sample for this study consisted of 480 (240 government schools + 240 Private schools) physical education teachers of Haryana state on the basis of multi-stage random sampling technique. For measuring Personality, Cattell’s “16PF”. Questionnaire (Hindi version by S.D. Kapoor, 1970) is used. Mean, Standard Deviation and ‘t’ tests have been used to analyse the data. The findings of the study revealed that: (i) there is no significant difference between the mean scores of govt. and private secondary physical education teachers for the factors A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, L, M, N, O, Q1, Q2, & Q4 except factor Q3. From the mean score of these factor it is observed that both the group are reserved, less intelligent, affected by feeling, assertive, sober, staid, socially bold, realistic, suspicious, practical, shrewd, apprehensive, experimenting, group dependent and relaxed. It was found that private sec. school Physical education teachers were found significantly higher on factor Q3. The result depicts that they have high self-concept control in comparison to govt. sec. school Physical education teachers.
