Abstract
Liquid crystals (LCs) represent a mesophase of matter exhibiting properties that are intermediate between those of conventional liquids and solid crystals. Unlike typical fluids, LCs have long-range orientational order of their constituent molecules, giving them anisotropic optical and electrical properties.
