Abstract

Abstract—Haze and fog causes’ adverse effect on the image quality. The images captured in awful climatic conditions have reduced contrast and whiteness in an image increases due to addition of atmospheric light from all the directions. Hence, there is need for an advance image processing strategy to eradicate the haze from a single image to improve the image quality for human perception and to reduce the problem of less visibility. This is done by the estimation of the transmission coefficient and the scene radiance by obtaining the depth of the scene of the hazy image with the help of the atmospheric scattering model.
