Abstract

Presently, the concept of sustainable development is adopted as the most recent form of social development paradigm both globally and locally. Sustainable development is the new concept which replaced the concept of economic development. In sustainable development, resources are efficiently used in such a way that these resources may be preserved for the future utilization along with fulfilling the requirements of the present generation. The Sustainable development can feasible if we attain social, economic and environmental sustainability simultaneously. In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and intended to be achieved by the year 2030. In the present paper, the need and dimensions of sustainable development along with Indian approach to achieve these SDGs is elaborated.
