Abstract

The dominant movement of people in the mega-deltas of south India is from agriculture-dominated rural areas to urban settlements, driven by growing opportunities, but resulting in new human development challenges. Labor moves from one place to another place in search of higher wages, better working and Working conditions. When the workers of region do not belong to that region where in they work and live they are recognized as migrated laborers. It also finds that migration takes place mainly for survival and repayment of debts, and that a large proportion of their earnings from migration are utilized for day to day expenses.
