Abstract

Travelling is a human instinct which, through the ages, has entertained and thus inspired man to move from one place to other. The strong desire for travel has always helped man to discover and explore new things. Travelling has helped him broaden his knowledge, expand trade, understand other places, people, their culture and customs and much more. A traveller travels with the aim of finding, studying, observing and learning about the ‘other’. A traveller with a creative bent of mind often shares the information that he has garnered and experiences of the travel with the world in his writing. Thus travel writing seems to have emerged from the instinct of man to travel, learn and record.
