Abstract

The present study examines the effectiveness of Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) over conventional methods to enhance the creative writing skill of secondary school students. Modern transactional strategies include the integration of multimedia into the syllabus so that the content can be effectively transacted in class room. Use of multimedia helps to bring out better learning outcomes. Computer-Generated Imagery , as a vibrant and dynamic multimedia tool, can enhance the creative writing skills of students. For the present study, 80 students were selected from class 9. 40 students were used as experimental group and 40 students were selected as control group. The experimental group was taught creative writing using videos created through CGI and the control group was exposed to conventional teaching methods. The theoretical base of the study was the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning by Mayer.
