Abstract

The Inheritance of Loss is a sublime work of literature by the magnificent Indian writer Kiran Desai. Set in the backdrop of the Gorkhaland movement, the novel revolves around the lives of people who attempt to get rid of the native identities by establishing new markers to identify them. In an attempt to override the original identities, they end up living a life of pseudo identities, where they are accepted by neither of the peoples.
