Abstract

Healthy behaviour is an outcome of healthy organisational climate in which employees are motivated to work for the achievement of organisational goals. In such a climate employees get satisfaction out of their job performance (Keith Davis, 1975). It is a challenge for any management of organisation to provide work climate in which employees ego involve themselves and give their best. This study probes into various behavioural patterns of employees of some Indian Public Sector Enterprises, focussing on structural and intervening variables of their climate and diagnosing a predicting their dynamic dimensions which determine healthy behaviour. This research attempts to discover the truth of why human beings behave the way they do. It is a very delicate and complex process where organisations try to successfully manipulate their employee’s behaviour for growth and efficiency. On the basis of multivariate analysis, the study concludes that individual behaviour is affected by intragroup relations, vertical relations, task complexity, spatial physical barriers, delegation and various other factors.
