The present paper investigates the spatio-temporal changes in the distribution of rural population in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The data for the study is collected from the secondary sources, mainly the District Census Handbooks of Jalgaon districts for the period of 2001 and 2011. The basis of distribution of rural population is arithmetic density of population which is also called as man-land ratio. The spatio-temporal changes are based on relative percentage changes incurred during the decade of 2001 and 2011. The results suggest that except Bhadgaon, Bhusawal and Jamner tehsils, the spatio-temporal changes positive in all the tehsils but changes are very high in Jalgaon, Erandol, Parola, Chalisgaon and Muktainagar tehsils. Jalgaon city is a big hub for employment and job opportunities in the district. Therefore, the nearby villages of Jalgaon city have shown considerable population increase during the last decade.
