Abstract

Indian mutual fund industry exhibits tremendous growth playing an imperative role in the economic development of the nation. The hikes and dips in the capital market are found to be simultaneously reflected in the stock prices and values of mutual funds. In this paper, the relationship between mutual funds and Indian stock market is examined to provide fruitful insights to investors and financial experts. The daily net asset values of three top rated large-cap equity funds and Nifty, being one of the dominant stock market index representing top 50 Indian companies have been used for the study.
