Abstract

The current study aimed to examine the association between self esteem and academic achievement among school going adolescents. For this study a sample of 100 adolescents ranging in the age group of 13 to 15 years was randomly selected from a senior secondary school in New Delhi. Fifty female and fifty male students were randomly selected from VIII and IX standard classes. The students’ grades were obtained from the annual records of the school. Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965) was administered on the selected sample to obtain the level of self esteem in both the genders.
