MUSHROOM: GOOD MEANS OF RURAL YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

Abstract

Commonly spongy food mildew (fungus) is called mushroom or khubhi. Usually, mushrooms contain 89-91 percent water, 0.99-1.26 percent chemicals 2.78-3.94 percent protein, 0.25-0.65 percent fat, 0.07-1.67 percent fibre, 1.30-6.28 percent carbohydrate and 24.4-34.4 kg calorie energy based on fresh weight. It is full of vitamins such as B1, B2, C&D and mineral salts. It is beneficial in many diseases such as polyuria, anaemia, berry-berry, cancer, cough, epilepsy, heart disease. It is cultivated on residues related to agriculture, forestry and animal business and the residues left after production are used as manure. Waste and barren land for production can be properly utilized by constructing mushroom houses. Thus it can be a meaningful income medium for farmers and unemployed youth. The present paper tries to produce an analysis about mushroom which is good means of rural youth employment.
