If one sees globally in the framework of time and space, one finds the use of abstract notations in the form of ridges and regular notchings on bones and stones in the societies of the Pre-historic past , which are indicative of some kind of symbolic thought. The first occurrence of such symbolic thought in Global context may be traced back to the Upper Palaeolithic Chattel Peronian culture, showing transition to the Upper Palaeolithic in the form of bones with regular notches as if it were to record a calculation.
