Abstract

The subject of our research is to investigate the problems in the education of the children of migrant working families in Murshidabad district of the state of West Bengal. The three purposes for which we have studied are - 1) To find out the problems in the education of children of migrant working families, 2) To identify how much the migrant worker’s family is aware of education, 3) To know how conducive the environment is to the education of the children of migrant working families. These are the problems we have encountered in collecting information through the application of interview and observation techniques - Poverty, Lack of suitable schools, Child labour, Minimum education rate for migrant workers, Lack of awareness in education, The impact of migrant workers on child education, Lack of study environment at home, The child's environment is unfavourable for learning.
