Abstract

The paper basically investigates the contexts related to gender equality particularly in India. It aims at investigating the causes that leads to such inequality at workplace and resultant forms of discrimination. The paper also tries to evaluate these causes and propose strategies to overcome barriers of inequality. The factors are broadly categorised into individual, organisational and socio- cultural dimensions. As per the review undertaken several strategies like gender mainstreaming, involvement in decision making, participation in unions can be adopted to bring in more equality within organisations.
